Milkyway Live Project Committee
Milkyway Live Project Committee (Office:Media i Corporation, Tokyo Japan) announced a Multimedia Live Project to show the Milkyway from Agawa village in Kochi via the Internet in cooperation with Mutoh Enterprise Ltd. The live broadcast will be from November 13 to December 13 and will feature the beautiful Milkyway around Orion and also the Leonid meteor shower which is expected to appear during this period. We hope many meteors will be captured by the camera. Milkyway Live Announcement
Media i Corporation (Representative: Tadashi Mori, Tokyo Japan) and Kochi Systems Co.,Ltd. (Representative: Toshiaki Yoshinaga, Kochi Japan) organized the Milkyway Live Project Committee in cooperation with the Education Committee of Agawa village, Kochi prefecture and Mutoh Enterprise Ltd. The Committee will set-up a CCD camera in Agawa village, Kochi prefecture from Friday, November 13 to Sunday, December 13, to capture images of the Milkyway and show them via the Internet.
The images will be of interest not only for ordinary people but also for school kids and pupils as educational content. At this point the committee is cooperating with educational bodies to make the images more accessible.
Also during the live Leonid meteor shower, that is expected to appear around Tueseday, December 17, the maximum hourly number of meteors may be more than one thousand. So we hope many meteors will be captured by the CCD camera.
